Moss removal on a tiled roof in Veurne, April 2026

  • Moss removal
  • Gutters

In April 2026, in Veurne (Furnes in French), Toiture Wash removed the moss from a tiled roof of about 100 m² for a private customer. Our team took the photos on site: the tiles close up, the gutter and its downpipe strainer, then a slope covered in lichen.

The job at a glance

Location
Veurne (8630), West Flanders
Date
April 2026
Customer
private customer
Roof covering
dark tiles, visible in the photos
Area
about 100 m² of roof
Services
moss removal, roof treatment, gutter cleaning

What we did

  1. Moss removal from the tiled roof.
  2. Roof treatment once the moss removal was finished.
  3. Gutter cleaning.

Worth noting

The tiles are dark and marked with yellow, white and grey patches, mostly near the gutter, on either side of a valley and in the overlaps. In the first photo, a downpipe strainer caps the opening of the downpipe, in the zinc gutter, at the foot of the valley: it holds back leaves and debris before they go down the pipe.

To find out what these lichens and this moss are, the guide on the risks of moss on the roof has the answer. Every moss removal includes a treatment, either a colourless water repellent or an algicide, fungicide and bactericide product, depending on the roof, and gutter cleaning is included.
