In September 2021, Toiture Wash removed the moss from the tiled roof and the chimney of a house in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw, both covered in lichen, then applied a colourless protective treatment to them. A large part of the roof carries solar panels: the photos show the tiles, the ridge and the chimney around them.

What we did

  1. The roof moss removal. The tiles and the ridge, marked with yellow lichen, were cleaned, including along the solar panels.
  2. The chimney. Its concrete cap, largely covered in lichen, was cleaned: the before and after photos are taken from the same spot.
  3. The protective treatment. A colourless treatment was applied to the roof and the chimney.
  4. The gutters. They were cleaned; in the before photo, the one at the bottom of the slope is obstructed.
  5. The site. Cleaning it up was part of the service.

Worth noting

A chimney gets dirty like the rest of the roof. Its cap, a concrete slab laid flat, gets covered in lichen like the tiles, and you cannot see it from the garden: on this job, it was largely covered before the cleaning. What roof moss removal includes, step by step: Roof moss removal and cleaning.
