What we did

  1. The roof moss removal. The slopes of dark grey tiles were cleaned.
  2. The flat zinc sections. Between the before photo and the after photo, a flat zinc section, edged with tiles, goes from a stained surface to a clean one.
  3. The gutters. They were cleared, like the zinc gutter running along the roof on the courtyard side.

Worth noting

In a Brussels street, the roof of one house often touches the neighbour's. On this job, moss had settled in the junction between the dark grey tiles of the house and the red tiles of the neighbouring roof, and deposits stained the flat zinc sections. These places cannot be seen from the street: they are cleaned at the same time as the slopes and the gutters. For gutters and box gutters, see Gutter and box gutter cleaning and our guide Blocked gutter or box gutter: what to do?
